Fish glue is a high-tack adhesive used typically in instrument making and furniture restoration. As a protein-based adhesive, fish glue shares many of the same properties as its hide-glue cousin.

The key differences to hide glue are fish glue's much longer open time, and fish glue does not require mixing and heating in a glue pot.
At room temperatures, fish glue is easily dispensed from a bottle like common (PVA) wood glues but forms a much stronger bond. Time to tack is around 1 minute, with open times between 30 minutes to an hour. Best of all, it cleans up quickly with just water. And no, it does not smell like fish!
Our fish glue comes in 8 ounce bottles with both a twist open/close dispensing spout and a regular (lined) plastic cap for storage. Our stock is recent, manufactured in 2024. Shelf life for fish glue is generally around 1 year, which can be extended with refrigeration.
